Do Re Mi Academy’s staff has decades of combined experience. Only those who have true musical talent and a child-friendly disposition will be found teaching at Do Re Mi. Whether your child is a toddler, preschooler, elementary or preteen student, we can find a class that properly meets the needs of your child. From singing and dancing in a Toddler Discovery class, to taking small group piano or violin lessons, or being a featured performer at the annual recital production, our talented instructors and creative approach will help your child meet their full musical and developmental potential.
Do Re Mi Preschool
Your child will be delighted by colorful and creative classrooms sure to spark imaginations! We like to think of ourselves as preschool with a twist! Our unique ‘Adventures in Music’ curriculum brings music and learning together in a nurturing and captivating environment. Children are naturally curious and it is our hope to sustain and build on that. Through play, music, and exploration, we strive to develop the whole child by incorporating important developmental goals: social-emotional, physical, cognitive, language, literacy, and mathematics. Providing age and developmentally appropriate activities, our preschool programs build an educational foundation, and also foster a creativity that will carry throughout your child’s entire life.
We offer three ‘music-immersion’ preschool programs to fit your family’s needs:
- For children age 18 months by September 1 of the school year.
- Classes are 2 hours on Monday and/or Friday mornings.
Do Re Mi Three’s
- For children age 3 by December 1 of the school year.
- Classes are 2.5 hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.
Do Re Mi Four’s
- For children age 4 by December 1 of the school year.
- Classes are 2.5 hours on Monday through Thursday afternoons.
- Bonus: Four’s also receive beginning piano and recorder instruction!
With a similar structure to a traditional drop off preschool, all classes are half-day and are taught by skilled, nurturing and experienced teachers. A typical preschool class will include music and movement time, exposure to various different instruments and songs, and age focused learning activities based on fun weekly themes. Each program receives progressive education in both age appropriate academic objectives and also music instruction. For example, a child graduating from our Four’s program will have beginning piano knowledge and will also be prepared academically for kindergarten.
Small Group Piano and Violin lessons
Small Group Piano and Violin lessons at Do Re Mi Academy are uniquely designed to provide your child a fun and engaging start to their journey learning an instrument. Experienced and talented teachers inspire your child to reach their fullest potential, while encouraging a lifelong passion for musical arts. Our small group format provides an encouraging and supportive environment that allows children to learn while having fun, making friends, and building confidence. Music is our passion, and we want to bring our joy of the art to as many children as possible!
Our small group format, with classes of 5-6 students, provides key benefits and experiences often missed in a traditional private lesson, such as:
- Social development: Children make friends and encourage one another.
- Team work: The group learns to play songs together as an ensemble.
- Confidence building: Play with and in front of supportive peers and perform at recitals.
- Bonus: Classes are fun and engaging – no boredom here!
With year-round, weekly 55 minute classes, and two yearly recitals, your child’s journey learning the piano or violin with Do Re Mi Academy will be a consistent, effective, and enjoyable experience. Classes are formed based on age and instruction level. While most children start as a beginner, we can also place more experienced students in an appropriate class. Small group piano lessons are great for children ages 4-14, while Violin instruction is best for children ages 7 and up.
