Paid tuition holds a child’s spot in a class. Do Re Mi Academy’s withdrawal process requires a minimum of 30 days written notice to info@drmacademy.com in order to allow time to fill the vacant seat. One final invoice will always follow your withdrawal notice. For example, if you submit written notice on October 10th, your final invoice will be issued on November 1st.
Tuition is not reduced for missed classes due to illness or vacation. All withdrawals and schedule changes must be submitted in writing to our Director at info@drmacademy.com. Teachers cannot process verbal requests for scheduling or billing changes.
Small Group Classes: Due to multiple teachers using our facility, makeups for missed lessons are not available unless another class has available space. If a teacher cancels a class, Do Re Mi Academy will either provide a substitute or reschedule at a convenient time. Classes cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled if space allows.
A minimum of four enrolled students is required for a class to begin. In rare cases of low enrollment, classes may be canceled. If this occurs, we will make every effort to transfer your student into a similar class. If no alternatives are available, the 30-day withdrawal notice requirement will be waived.
Weather-Related Closures: We generally follow the Renton School District for closures. If the district has a delayed start, morning preschool classes are canceled. If the district closes for the day, all classes—including small groups—will be canceled. We will share updates by text, email, and on our Facebook page as soon as possible. You may also reference the Renton School District’s website or local news tickers.
We may take photos and/or videos of students during class time or events. By participating in our programs, you grant Do Re Mi Academy the right to use these materials for lawful purposes such as publicity, advertising, illustration, and website content. Photos may be used in both print and digital formats.
If you would like to opt out, please send an email to info@drmacademy.com stating your request to revoke the photo release.
Tuition is collected on the first of each month via a secure auto-payment system. The annual tuition is divided into equal monthly payments regardless of how many classes fall within a given month. Tuition secures your student’s spot in class and covers weekly lessons, but does not include the cost of music books.
Most classes are invited to participate in two yearly recitals. These events may include a separate fee, which will be communicated in advance.
For the safety of our students, families, and staff, individuals showing signs of illness should remain at home. Upon arrival, temperatures may be checked using a touchless thermometer, and visual checks for symptoms may be conducted per CDC and public health guidelines.
Symptoms that require staying home include:
Children with other contagious symptoms—such as pus/oozing eyes, head lice, pink eye, chickenpox, measles, or similar conditions—must be symptom-free and fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication before returning to class.
