Preschool Policy

Thank you for choosing Do Re Mi Academy! Below is our current preschool policy outlining enrollment, tuition, withdrawal, attendance, behavior expectations, and health protocols.

1. Enrollment Policy

Enrollment is for the full academic year (September to June). A student’s place is confirmed once the enrollment form and tuition payment are received, and a confirmation has been issued. Policies may change — always check drmacademy.com/policies for the latest version.

2. Tuition Payment Options

• Pre-Payment Option: 10% discount if paid in full by March 31; 5% by June 30. Must pay via ACH or personal check.
• Standard Option: 25% deposit due at enrollment; remaining 75% due by August 15. Deposit is refundable until August 1.
• Financing (TPP): 10 monthly payments (Sept–June). Monthly fees: $15 (Toddlers), $20 (Threes), $25 (Fours). Requires ACH setup.

3. Withdrawal Policy

• First 30 Days: Full refund (less any used tuition).
• For Cause: Refunds granted for full unused calendar months with written request.
• For Convenience: Case-by-case review. Vacation or relocation does not qualify for a refund.

4. Attendance and Closures

Please inform teachers of any absences. Tuition is not reduced for absences. Weather-related closures typically follow Renton School District. Morning classes are canceled during district late starts.

5. Late Pick-Up Policy

• 1st Instance: $10 per 15 minutes late.
• 2nd Instance: $15 per 15 minutes + written warning.
• 3rd Instance: $20 per 15 minutes + required meeting; potential dismissal for repeated offenses.
• After 30 Minutes: If contacts cannot be reached, local authorities may be called.

6. Discipline Policy

We emphasize conflict resolution and social-emotional learning. However, unsafe behavior may result in dismissal. Discipline steps:

1. First incident reported to parent.
2. Second incident triggers a parent-teacher conference.
3. Third incident results in pick-up and 30-day probation with weekly behavior reports.

Expulsion may occur if:

• The child’s needs exceed school resources.
• Parents cannot support behavior strategies.
• Behavior continues to endanger others.

7. Health Policy

Children with the following symptoms must stay home:

• Fever (100.4°F or higher)
• Cough, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat
• Green mucus (non-allergy related)
• Contagious illness (e.g., pink eye, lice, chickenpox)

Children must be symptom-free for 24 hours (without medication) before returning.

8. Security

We use internal/external video surveillance. Only contacts listed as custodial authorities may pick up children. New contacts must be added via email and will require ID.

9. Photo Release

We may use photos/videos of children for promotional purposes. To revoke consent, email info@drmacademy.com.

10. Waiver of Liability

Participation in our programs is voluntary. By enrolling, you accept responsibility for any risks, including exposure to allergens or illness. Do Re Mi Academy is not liable for injury or illness that may occur. This waiver remains effective unless formally withdrawn in writing.
